When I get stuck on a word in a book,
There are lots of things I can do.
I can do them all, please, by myself;
I don't need help from you.
I can look at the picture to get a hint.
Or think what the story's about.
I can "get my mouth ready" to say the first letter.
A kind of "sounding out".
I can chop up the words into smaller parts,
Like on or ing or ly,
Or find smaller words in compound words
Like raincoat and bumblebee.
I can think of a word that makes sense in that place,
Guess or say "blank" and read on
Until the sentence has reached its end,
Then go back and try these on:
"Does it make sense?"
"Can we say it that way?"
"Does it look right to me?"
Chances are the right word will pop out like the sun
In my own mind, can't you see?
If I've thought of and tried out most of these things
And I still do not know what to do,
Then I may turn around and ask
For some help to get me through.

It's about John Lennon's (Aaron Johnson) teenage years and his first steps to stardom and focuses on the influence his Aunt Mimi, (Kristin Scott Thomas) who raised him and his mother Julia, (Anne-Marie Duff) the spirited mother who gave him up had on his early life who also fight for his love.

As his new life begins, old secrets unfold and truths about his past leads to inescapable tragedy.
I love the fact that Thomas Sangster who already knew how to play the guitar actually learn how to play the guitar like the left-handed McCartney just for the scenes of The QuarryMen performing in the movie.
Overall, the movie is lined up by professional actors, veterans or new-comers, it doesn't really matter.
Not only that,
the OST includes a lot of well-known hits from the 50's-60's.

(which includes me :p) Nowhere Boy OST is a rock and roll album at heart, but also draws influence from rhythm, blues, and country. All the material is taken from the film’s period (circa 1950’s), and opens with Jerry Lee Lewis’ bonafide classic, “Wild One”. Things slow down for “Mr Sandman” by Dickie Valentine, but the album already begins to exude a sense of charm.The list contains classic tracks by Wanda Jackson, Gene Vincent, Elvis and John Lennon himself.
